Find Out More About Robokit Inventor's Holiday Program

WHY YOU SHOULD JOIN THIS CAMP

Roborobo and Ingatan Gajah have partnered to host the
Robokit Inventor’s Workshop Overseas Program, scheduled
from December 16 to 21, 2024, at Marina Square, Singapore.
This program stands out from other robotics programs because
the Robokit set provides a wider variety of electronic
components (15+ components) compared to mainstream
products like Lego, which are limited to a few sensors. Students
will explore additional components such as magnetic field
sensors, tilt sensors, and servo motors.

Inspiring Future Learning Paths

Visiting a top university in Singapore will give students insight into higher education and possible career paths

BACKGROUND

Research from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) shows that robotics education for students aged 12-18 enhances critical thinking, problem-solving, and teamwork skills, making it a vital tool to prepare them for technological advancements. Studies from Carnegie Mellon University’s Robotics Academy reveal that integrating robotics into the curriculum boosts STEM engagement through interactive learning, applying scientific and mathematical concepts in real-world contexts.

This program will be held in Singapore, a global hub for innovation and technology, leveraging the city’s dynamic ecosystem. In this advanced environment, students will gain academic and practical skills, along with direct exposure to cutting-edge technology, enriching their learning experience and career prospects.

EUREKA PHASE > Develop the "Spark" in your child

Camp participants will be introduced to the exciting world of robotics and programming through a fun learning kit (ROBOKIT) and engaging environment. They will explore various challenges that spark their innovative spirit and develop creative solutions.

INNOVATOR PHASE > Execute & Adapt

Innovators will face a series of team challenges that test their skills. They’ll engage in speed building and problem-solving, actively seeking feedback to refine their work. This phase highlights presentation skills, allowing participants to showcase their inventions and celebrate their creativity and innovation.

INCUBATION PHASE > Entrust Innovator skill

Innovators will cultivate essential building and programming skills to prepare for the next phase. This stage emphasizes skill development and teamwork, allowing participants to collaborate and identify their individual strengths and weaknesses.

DAY 1

16 Dec 2024, Arrival & City Tour

Upon arrival in Singapore, participants will kick off their visit
with a city tour, discovering the unique blend of modern
innovation and rich heritage that defines this global hub. After
exploring key landmarks and gaining an introduction to
Singapore’s culture, they will proceed to check into their hotel,
where they can settle in and relax. The day will conclude with a
welcome dinner, offering an opportunity to enjoy local cuisine
and connect with fellow participants, setting a warm and
inviting tone for the experiences ahead.

DAY 2

17 Dec 2024, Robokit Innovator’s Workshop

The workshop will introduce students to the Robokit, covering its components, sensors, tools, and programming interface. They’ll build and program a simple robot with LEDs and buzzers, then progress to a sensing robot using IR sensors and motors. The day will conclude with a mini team challenge and a wrapup session.

DAY 3

18 Dec 2024, Robokit Innovator’s Program

On day 3, the program will focus on building and
programming two types of robots using the Robokit
set. The day will start with a warm-up activity followed
by a lesson on building a line-tracing beetle robot.
Students will then program the robot to follow a line
on the ground. After a short break, they will learn to
build a bulldozer robot, incorporating the use of servo
motors and a joystick module. The day will conclude
with a mini team challenge and a wrap-up session.

DAY 4

19 Dec 2024, Robokit Innovator’s Program

Day 4 of the program will focus on building a space
arcade robot using the Rootkit set. Students will first
construct the robot and then program it to interact
with the Scratch software. The day will continue with a
team challenge, where teams will compete in speed
building, programming, and operation challenges.
The program will conclude with a certificate
presentation, photo session, and closing remarks

DAY 5 & 6

Day 5 (20 Dec 2024): Universal Studios Tour

A trip to Universal Studios with friends offers a thrilling and
unforgettable experience, ideal for team building and enhancing
teamwork. Here, students immerse themselves in iconic movie
worlds, ride heart-pounding roller coasters, and meet beloved
characters

Day 6 (21 Dec 2024): Departure

Indulge in an enriching academic experience by embarking on a
